Re-imagining Workspace

Working with Jan Kattein Architects and contractor Sullivan Brothers Flamingo & Oak project managed the transformation of a former disused set of garages and drying yard on a housing estate that was subject to anti-social behaviour and was a blight on the area.

Designed as a sustainable temporary meanwhile use the garages were re-purposed to create afforable workspaces for start-up businesses and local entrepreneurs, 5 new purpose-build units and a recycled bus (now a cafe) complete the offer.  The space has been transformational for the area, sitting along-side the refurbishment of the library and a series of public art interventions on flank walls along the high street, all project managed by Flamingo & Oak.

Awards: New London Architecture Awards 2020 - Meanwhile winner,

Planning Awards 2023 - Award for Fostering a Healthy Town Centre,

Building London Planning Awards 2023 - Best Borough Led Project (Highly Commended)
